Last weekend, Dopapod kicked off a spring tour with a three-night stand in the colorful land of Colorado. Not wasting any time at all, the group started off the first set of their first show with a debut cover like none other: “YYZ” by Rush.

The song had long been requested in the band’s fan group, DopaFam, eventually prompting the band to learn and execute the cover. The song is not an easy one to play, as it features an irregular time signature. The song gets its name for the morse code pattern of “YYZ,” which is imitated by Rush drummer Neil Peart.

Fortunately, fan John Mehren captured the entire first set of the band’s tour opener at the Bluebird Theater in Denver, CO from last Thursday, March 31st. Watch the multi-cam footage of “YYZ” below:
