After spending Thanksgiving with the family, many of us find ourselves eager to reconnect with old friends over the long weekend. Fortunately, Greensky Bluegrass is hosting the party this weekend, allowing the hometown crowd of Camp Greensky to enjoy their favorite band and community for two great nights at the Kalamazoo State Theatre.

The band, which formed in Kalamazoo in 2000, returned home for the first of two nights yesterday. Opening the show with a cover of Thin Lizzie’s “The Boys Are Back In Town,” the show picked up heat with “Kerosene” and never stopped grooving. Even guitarist Jon Stickley got in the fun, joining the band for an extended five song run that included The Beatles’ “She Came In Through The Bathroom Window” and JJ Cale’s “After Midnight” jam-wiched in a “Broke Mountain Breakdown.”

The show also featured a noteworthy cover of Pink Floyd’s “Time” in the encore, capping off a memorable performance. The Greensky band is all set to do it again tomorrow night! Check out the setlist below:
