Wow. John Legend and Common just gave a performance so powerful that half the audience was in tears. Like, full-blown waterworks.
The duo performed their emotional track “Glory,” from the movie Selma. The song addresses racial injustice, referencing the civil rights fight from the 1960s up through more recent events in Ferguson. A full chorus and projected imagery attempted to recreate the march on Selma in the intensely moving performance.
Immediately following the performance, Legend and Common accepted their Academy Award for Best Original Song. Congrats to the deserving pair!
