When moe. announced they would be performing a Star Wars-themed set on Halloween, fans had no idea quite what to expect. The resulting performance turned out better than anyone could have imagined, with the band not only playing music from the show but also related ‘space’ covers and even alternating out the lyrics from their own songs to fit the theme (“Senator Palpatine” instead of “St. Augustine,” for example).

Now, we’ll admit, we’ve been mildly obsessed with Star Wars ever since The Force Awakens hit theaters. We shared an Umphrey’s McGee cover of “Cantina Band” and a Star Wars-themed Phish encore from 2012, but this moe. performance takes the cake. With the announcement that a handful of these tunes would return during the band’s upcoming New Year’s run, we thought we’d relive some highlights from the moe. Halloween show.
