Progressive rockers Mungion continue to make a name for themselves, blowing up the Chicago scene with their creative approach and tightknit musicianship. The band has a new album, Scary Blankets, due out next month, and in celebration, they’ve shared some serious live footage from the studio.

Here they are showing off their chops on “Nuthead,” a song that starts with an innocuous clapping rhythm and explodes into a full-blown odyssey. Check out this footage of the band’s performance at IV Labs in Chicago.

The group will throw a Mungion & Friends party, post-Phish, on Friday June 24th at Tonic Room in Chicago, and has some serious fun times ahead. You can find show tickets here, and all things Mungion can be found on the band’s website.
