Ween Wraps Philly Run With First "Boing" Since 1994 [Photos/Full Video]

Ween closed out its two-night stand at The Met in Philadelphia with a 27-year bust-out of The Pod‘s “Boing”. The show was Ween’s penultimate concert of 2021, with the band finishing its touring year tonight, December 12th at The Fillmore Silver Spring in Maryland.

The show started with the psychedelic query of “Did You See Me?” as the band rattled off favorites “She Wanted to Leave” and Dean Ween‘s “With My Own Bare Hands” before the slightly rarer “Get a Little Taste of You”. Ween then delivered more setlist staples “The Grobe”, “Waving My Dick in the Wind”, “Common Bitch”, and “Even If You Don’t”.

Deaner stepped to the mic to introduce the next song, “This song is from The Pod. It’s short and sweet, and it’s called ‘Boing.'” Short and sweet it was, eeking out just over 90 seconds, though still making history in its brief moment as the first performance since 11/8/94 per Brownbase. Another rarity followed in “Can U Taste the Waste?”, which was revived on October 29th in Denver after over 26 years on the bench since it was played just one time on 4/20/95 in Australia.

Thus marked the most notable bust-outs of the evening, as Ween continued on with hits “Voodoo Lady”, “Happy Colored Marbles”, “Push th’ Little Daisies”, “Gabrielle”, “Bananas and Blow”, and more. The more well-known staples were interspersed with some deeper cuts including “Up on the Hill”, “Stay Forever”, “Sweet Texas Fire”, “The Stallion Pt. 5”, and a cover of Instant Death‘s “The Enabler”.
