“Weird Al” Yankovic appeared on Monday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he was joined by house band The Roots and host Jimmy Fallon for a medley of some of his most famous song parodies. The collaboration was part of a regular segment featuring familiar songs played on classroom instruments.

Backed by Fallon and members of The Roots, who were armed with instruments including a rainbow glockenspiel, melodicas, and a ukulele, Weird Al used a child-sized accordion to weave together bits of “Another One Rides the Bus”, “White and Nerdy”, “I Want a New Duck”, “Eat It”, “Fat”, “I Love Rocky Road”, “My Bologna”, and “Yoda”.

Weird Al’s Tonight Show appearance comes just days after the streaming release of WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story, now available to watch for free exclusively via the Roku Channel. Starring Daniel Radcliffe as Weird Al, Rainn Wilson (The Office) as wacky radio DJ Dr. Demento who first discovered him, Julianne Nicholson and Toby Huss as his parents, Evan Rachel Wood as Madonna, and Quinta Brunson as Oprah Winfrey, the fictionalized biopic parodies the popular movie genre, covering Weird Al’s imagined struggles with drugs and alcohol and fantasy love affair Madonna.

Weird Al recently told Rolling Stone that, having released his final contractually obligated album, the aptly titled Mandatory Fun, in 2014, he is ready to leave parody song writing behind. “If a brilliant idea pops in my head, I guess I’d do it,” he said. “But I’m leaving that to other people for the time being. I’m not retiring. I’m not saying I’m never gonna do another one. But it’s just not my focus right now.”

He went on to add, “I’m just taking a little break from that and trying to do other things that I’m interested in. And again, if a great idea strikes me, then certainly I’ll do that. But I don’t want to try to force it just for the sake of feeding the pipeline.”
