With Phish announcing their Baker’s Dozen run at New York City’s Madison Square Garden in late July through early August, the late-night game is sure to be strong. Ohio’s The Werks will be playing a special two-night run right around the corner at American Beauty on Friday, July 21st and Saturday, July 22nd to keep the festivities going after the Vermont Quartet leaves the stage.

With the recent release of their latest LP, Magic, The Werks have continued to evolve their sound, both sonically and from a songwriting perspective. Drummer Rob Chafin discussed the band’s latest effort, saying, “This is a recording of the music that’s in our souls….In a way, the past decade has been leading to this moment. We play and write together so seamlessly now, we’re able to channel the inspiration in our hearts out into our instruments, and come at this from a pure place.”

With a devoted fanbase, countless live recordings, their own successful Werk Out Music Festival in Ohio, and the will to tour the country year-round, The Werks have established themselves as a staple in the jam world over the last decade. These shows will begin the three-week long marathon of late-night shows to complement Phish’s historic run at MSG.

American Beauty has quickly become one of the more jam-friendly venues in Manhattan. The venue features tasty craft brews and free pizza to all attendees, which is always a nice combination as you begin to stretch the night out for a few more hours of dancing and fun.

Tickets for the shows go on-sale this Wednesday, April 5th, at 12pm EDT via Ticketweb. A limited amount of 2-night passes will also be available at that link.
