The Werks have been on a non-stop grind in 2018, constantly touring, hosting their own independent and wildly successful Werk Out Festival, and working on new music. The band just debuted their first new single since the release of their 2017 album, Magic. “Stars Collide” is a funky dance groove, with catchy lyrics and a slice of that Studio 54-era disco club vibe via the tune’s well-placed string-arrangement sample. This latest song has the makings to lift off in the live setting.
The Ohio-based jammers continue to grow as songwriters in the studio and as a live touring act, with a seemingly endless amount of energy to tour the country. The Werks have a full slate of shows throughout the rest of 2018 and will end the year at the Cutting Room in New York City on December 28th and Union Stage in Washington D.C. on December 29th with Moogatu, before joining Twiddle at The House of Blues in Boston, MA, on New Year’s Eve.
Over the last decade, the group has transcended out of their funk-rock roots to become one of the most multidimensional improvisational bands in the jam scene today. With regards to “Stars Collide,” the group shared the following message, “Love can happen in an instant and last forever, just like when stars collide and create gold. This dance anthem captures the magic of that moment, the exhilaration you feel when you know you’ve found the one.”
