When In Robe continues on March 9th with our next event, featuring Plastic Plates, BUKU, Blacky II, Dan Wender, and our resident robemaster genreral, Subset. If you haven’t been to When In Robe, here’s the run down. You arrive at the spa and get handed FREE champagne, a robe, and a key to a locker. Change into your bathing suit and enter our upscale spa, which includes a hot tub, cold plunge, steam room, saunas, and massage treatments. We transform the spa into a night club with full lights, old school cartoons on the screens, a full bar, and tons of random shit to play with. Oh, and we also give you FREE FOOD because, why the fuck not.
Plastic Plates is the DJ alias of Australian born jazz drummer Felix Bloxsom, who’se seen over 2.5 million plays of his blend of disco and house music to his Soundcloud. Since winning the ‘Young Australian Jazz Artist of the Year’ award in 2004, Bloxsom has performed with everyone from Empire of The Sun to Kelly Clarkson to Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes. He’s recently remixed tracks by Miami Horror and Yolanda Be Cool among others.
Pittsburgh born Buku has been making waves in the bass music scene with support from the likes of Starkey, Paper Diamond, Kastle, Shiftee and more. A background in percussion gives this musical wizard some of the most intricate drum patterns out there. Check out his Soundcloud to check out his latest EP.
Blacky II and Dan Wender are the hosts of New York City’s popular RINSED parties for the past several years. Their unique events blend incredible music with visual experiences and have been highly praised by dance music fans and critics alike.
When In Robe legend Subset is famous for shaking the floors of Webster Hall’s BASSMent every Saturday. He recently dropped a remix of Above and Beyond’s Sun and Moon that I can’t get out of my head. He also enjoys cats, pizza, and long walks on the beach.
