Widespread Panic has shared footage of the band’s performances of “Big Wooly Mammoth” and “Chilly Water” from Oak Mountain Amphitheatre in Pelham, AL on 8/12/00. The clip comes from the official video release, Oak Mountain 2000.

This video comes as the latest in an ever-flowing stream of archival live content from the southern rock jam band. Since unceremoniously beginning a continuous—almost daily—barrage of live videos at the start of 2021, the band has released clips from its 2002 documentary, 25th anniversary run of shows, concert films, interviews, vintage TV appearances, concerts at Oak Mountain Amphitheatre in 2000 and 2011, and more.

“Big Wooly Mammoth” opened up the second set on the second night of the band’s three-show run at Oak Mountain. The penultimate stop on the tour—coming ahead of a two-night stand at River Run in Keystone, CO the following week—Widespread Panic left all its energy out there on the stage, in addition to a barrage of lighters that rained down on the band during the song. The crowd participation wasn’t finished just yet, however, as it was time for everyone to hydrate with some “Chilly Water”.

The arrival of this video on Tuesday comes at an exciting time for Widespread Panic fans. With the announcement of a series of multi-night runs later this year, another Beacon Theatre residency, a New Year’s Eve at The Fox Theatre, and two nights at Mempho Music Festival, there is once again live Widespread Panic on the horizon.

Watch Widespread Panic perform “Big Wooly Mammoth” and “Chilly Water” at Oak Mountain Amphitheatre on August 12th, 2000.
