Athens, GA rockers Widespread Panic have announced a series of pay-per-view webcasts taking place throughout the month of December in the lead-up to New Year’s Eve, billed as Run To New Years.

While the ongoing pandemic will keep the band from continuing their long-running Atlanta NYE tradition, the band will relive some of their favorite New Year’s Run shows at Atlanta’s Philips Arena throughout this month in partnership with

Each Saturday night in December, the band will revisit a performance from their days celebrating New Year’s Eve at Philips Arena, where they rang in the new year ten times between 1999 and 2013. In recent years, the band has mostly opted for Atlanta’s more intimate Fox Theater.

The series will culminate on New Year’s Eve, Thursday, December 31st, with a webcast of the band’s memorable, turn-of-the-century show from 12/31/99 featuring sit-ins by the Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Ms Dottie Peoples & The Peoples Choice Choir.

From the very earliest days of the live music industry shutdown back in March, Widespread Panic fans have enjoyed free weekly full-show webcasts via the band’s Never Miss A Sunday Show series. That eight-month series wrapped up this past Sunday with an airing of 9/8/1995 at Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh, NC featuring Col Bruce Hampton and more.
