[UPDATE 8/23/21]: Following Friday’s postponement of the upcoming Widespread Panic shows in Napa, CA this coming weekend (8/27–8/29), the band has announced that its scheduled five-night September residency at the Beacon Theatre (9/16–9/20) in New York City has also been postponed.
According to an announcement from the band, the Beacon shows have been rescheduled to January 13th–17th, 2022. Tickets purchased for the September 2021 run will be honored on the corresponding day of the week during the rescheduled 2022 run.
In addition to the postponement, the band announced COVID-19 safety protocols including required proof of full vaccination for all attendees over the age of 12.
The announcement adds, “Please note that government mandates, venue protocols and event requirements are subject to change, so be sure to continue to check the event page on our website for the latest information.”

Widespread Panic has decided to postponed the upcoming Napa Valley and NYC concert dates in their ongoing effort to make Widespread Panic shows as safe as possible for everyone involved – from Band Member to audience member, and the unseen many in between.
The presence and spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant has created another surge of infections and hospitalizations across the Nation. Our Health Care Workers and First Responders are once again pushed to and beyond reasonable limits, These are our Families, Friends, and neighbors. This is why we are making late moment adjustments.
The timing of this announcement could never be ideal, but it is being delivered as soon as logistically possible after the Band made its unanimous decision. We understand that this will be an inconvenience for concertgoers as well – having their plans upended. These are our friends. We are determined to hold these gatherings and celebrations with Friends in the safest environment we can create.
Since returning to live performance, the Band, Crew and Management have gone to great lengths and expense to ensure the safety of every soul in the venue. We are taking this pause to re-enforce our already stringent protocols. Bottom line – the COVID virus is relentless, and it loves an audience.
Widespread Panic is hopeful and grateful for Everyone’s understanding of our concerns during these unprecedented and continuously shifting times.
With the Beacon run postponed, the next Widespread Panic tour dates on the books are two nights headlining Mempho Music Festival in Memphis, TN in early October.

[UPDATE 8/21/21]: Following last weekend’s postponement of three Widespread Panic shows at ACL Live in Austin, TX after frontman John Bell tested positive for COVID-19, the band has now postponed an upcoming run in Napa, CA (August 27th, 28th, and 29th) until the same weekend (August 26th, 27th, and 28th) in 2022.
Unlike the Austin postponement announcement, the band’s Napa announcement did not specify the reason for the date change.

[8/13/21]: This weekend’s Widespread Panic run at ACL Live in Austin, Texas has been postponed due to a positive covid test for frontman John Bell, the band announced just hours before showtime on Friday. The announcement comes after the band implemented a mandatory testing/vaccination/mask policy for the now-postponed shows earlier this week.
The run was initially due to take place Friday–Sunday, August 13th–15th, 2021. The shows will now take place Friday, October 8th through Sunday, October 10th.

After all this time, we were really looking forward to finally connecting with you in Austin, Texas at ACL Live this weekend. Being mindful of the concerns that COVID-19 has placed upon these events, we put plans in place to keep our fans, crew, venue staff, and band members as safe as possible while we’re together.
Despite all being vaccinated and the precautions we’ve taken, John Bell has tested positive for COVID. Unfortunately, this means that we have to postpone this weekend’s shows to support both our friend’s health and the safety of everyone involved in these events.
This weekend’s shows are being rescheduled to Friday, October 8 – Sunday, October 10. Tickets for this Friday, August 13 will be honored on Friday, October 8; Saturday, August 14 tickets will be honored on Saturday, October 9; and Sunday, August 15 tickets will be honored on Sunday, October 10. For those who can’t join us or would prefer a refund, you’ll be receiving an email with your refund options shortly.
We’re heartbroken that we can’t be with you this weekend, but we know that health & safety come first. We appreciate your support and we’ll see you soon – we promise it’ll be worth the wait.
