Widespread Panic will make its highly-anticipated return to the stage later this month in Atlantic City, and on Friday the band shared a bit of rehearsal footage with guitarist Jimmy Herring. Last summer, Widespread Panic cleared its tour schedule so Herring could undergo treatment for stage one tonsil cancer.

A brief teaser video shared to Panic’s social media channels shows Herring, John BellDave SchoolsJoJo HermannDuane Trucks, and Sunny Ortiz rehearsing together at what PanicStream identified as the Georgia Theatre in Athens. The clip does not include live audio from the session but rather is set to a studio recording of “Little by Little” from last year’s Snake Oil King—the band’s first album in nine years. Though the video doesn’t include audio, it does give fans their first glimpse of Herring since undergoing cancer treatment, with the guitarist sporting a trim goatee as opposed to his usual flowing white beard.

Widespread Panic has not performed since the band’s annual Red Rocks Amphitheatre run in June of last year. Days before the band was set to return to Asheville, NC for a three-night run in July, WSP announced Herring’s cancer diagnosis—ultimately canceling all remaining tour dates. Fast forward seven months and Widespread Panic is gearing up for its first shows back on February 14th, 15th, and 16th at the Hard Rock Live at Estess Arena in Atlantic City. The group has since tacked on additional runs in St. Augustine, FL (3/21–3/23), Nashville (4/24–4/26), and Charleston, SC (5/16–5/17). Find Widespread Panic tickets and tour dates on Ticketmaster.
