Last night brought the first of two Widespread Panic shows to the great Wanee Festival, just one day after JoJo Hermann spoke about the band’s plan to cease touring after 2016. Panic didn’t seem to acknowledge those reports, and instead put on a great show for the Southern festival crowd. The extended one-set performance featured some of the band’s staples, including “Chilly Water,” “Tall Boy > Shut Up And Drive,” a “Driving Song” with “Papa’s Home” sandwiched, and more.

After closing out the set with “Ain’t Life Grand,” featuring John Bell on mandolin, Panic returned to the stage with two very special guests, Warren Haynes and Danny Louis. The two Gov’t Mule members joined in for a pair of ZZ Top songs, “Waitin’ For The Bus > Jesus Just Left Chicago,” as the songs appear side-by-side on ZZ Top’s 1973 album, Tres Hombres. The two songs featured some excellent interplay between Haynes and Jimmy Herring

The group closed out the show with “Bowlegged Woman,” and are set to do it all again tonight! Check out the full setlist below:
