Wilco and Trampled By Turtles will team up for a three-show run of co-headlining performances scheduled for this September.
Announced on Monday, the brief run of shows across the northern Midwest will begin with a performance at the Water Works Park in Des Moines, IA on September 17th, followed by gigs at Capital Credit Union Park in Green Bay, WI on September 18th, and finally Treasure Island Amphitheater in Welch, MN on September 19th.
The announcement comes just a week following the completion of Wilco’s Sky Blue Sky destination event in Riviera Maya, Mexico which took place over January 18th-22nd and featured performances from the host band in addition to Courtney Barnett, Sharon Van Etten, Yo La Tengo, Kamasi Washington, and more.
As for Trampled By Turtles, the band closed 2019 with the release of their five-track covers EP, Sigourney Fever. The December arrival of the album acted as the band’s studio follow-up to 2018’s Life is Good on the Open Road, and features TBT’s takes on Neil Young’s “Pocahontas”, Warren Zevon’s “Keep Me In Your Heart”, Faces’ “Ooh La La”, Iris DeMent’s “Our Town”, and Radiohead‘s “Fake Plastic Trees”.
Trampled By Turtles’ 2020 winter campaign began over the weekend and continues until February 26th following a show in Athens, GA.
