Luck Productions has announced the lineup for the 47th annual Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic. The virtual event will see appearances by Sheryl Crow, Ziggy Marley, Margo Price, and many more in addition to a performance from Willie Nelson and his band at Pedernales Studios.
Starting at 3:30 p.m. CT this July 4th, Luck Productions will treat viewers to hours of interviews, live performances, and special programming from a stacked lineup of artists. Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic will include full sets by Asleep At The Wheel, Charley Crockett, Peterson Brothers, Shakey Graves, and Vincent Neil Emerson, in addition to a “Spectacular Picnic Finale” featuring Devon Gilfillian, John Doe, Johnny Bush, Kinky Friedman, Kurt Vile, Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real, and more.
Chef Scott Roberts of Salt Lick BBQ will kick things off with an episode of Prime Cuts, an interactive cooking program that will benefit the Austin Food and Wine Alliance, followed by live-streamed performances from Luck’s Saloon and Chapel stages. Next will be a 90-minute concert film segment. This will include interviews, remote performances from Picnic artists, and an all-star house band curated by The Texas Gentlemen‘s Beau Bedford and featuring Charlie Sexton, John Michael Schoepf, and Josh Blue. SiriusXM will also stream the concert film via the “Willie’s Roadhouse” channel.
“Our goal with the 2020 Picnic is to bring it back to what it was—in the only way we can during these times. We were set to host this year’s event at Luck, to welcome the Picnic back to its hill country home,” said Luck Productions co-founder Elle Fletcher Drurniak in a press release. “The Picnic is really one of a kind, it has always been scrappy. Cars on fire. Mass arrests. You name it… it happened at the Picnic.”
Tickets will go on sale Monday, June 29th at 12:00 p.m. CT, start at $35, and grant access to curated food and beverage packages from Assembly Kitchen, Austin Food and Wine Alliance grant recipients, and Sourced Craft Cocktails. Additionally, one dollar from each ticket will support The Luck Reunion Fund, which is managed by the Austin Community Foundation and directly benefits five foundations: All Together, ATX, Six Square, Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, SIMS Foundation, and Central Texas Foodbank.
