Willie Nelson will publish a collection of letters addressed to his fellow Americans in a forthcoming book to be published by Harper Horizon later this year.

Entitled, Willie Nelson’s Letters to America, the forthcoming book from the country music veteran will arrive on June 29th and will be Nelson’s first book publication since his 2016 Christmas novel Pretty Paper. The publisher’s website states Nelson’s collection of letters will “remind us of the endless promise and continuous obligations of all Americans–to themselves, to one another, and to their nation.”

Along with Nelson’s personal correspondence to his fellow countrymen and women, Letters to America will also include printed lyrics to some of his original songs including “Let Me Be a Man”, “Family Bible”, “Summer of Roses”, “Yesterday’s Wine”, and more.

A short excerpt from the book shared by Harper Horizon also reads,

Dear America,

This is your old friend, Willie, sending a note to see how you’re doing, and to say I’m doing fine. I’ve long believed in the positive idea of being fine, and being committed to a goal of always moving forward. If I’m backing up, it’s just to get a running start. Those are words you can live by.

From a hilltop in Texas,
Willie Nelson

The book’s announcement last week came alongside the Friday arrival of Nelson’s 71st solo studio album, That’s Life, an 11-track covers compilation in tribute to Frank Sinatra.
