Folk-rock trio The Wood Brothers have announced a new live album, Live At The Fillmore, due out on September 6th via Honey Jar/Tiger Records. The latest edition to the band’s ongoing series of concert recordings features 14 tracks from The Wood Brothers’ two-night stand at The Fillmore in San Francisco earlier this year.
The band—comprised of guitarist Oliver Wood, bassist Chris Wood, and drummer Jano Rix—received a Grammy Award nomination for their 2018 studio release, One Drop Of Truth, and continue to tour rigorously in support of the acclaimed album.
Brothers Chris and Oliver Wood shared their thoughts on the new live album in a press release. As Oliver explains,
That room just feels like a classic from the moment you arrive. All of our heroes have performed there at one time or another, and it’s really special to be able to walk in their footsteps. It inspires us every we time we get on that stage.
Chris adds,
The longer we play together, the more we can read each other’s thoughts and anticipate each other’s musical choices, so we’re always evolving and reinventing aspects of our show. The venue we’re performing in plays a big part in all of that, too. We made our last live album at Levon Helm‘s barn, which is a very small, intimate place, but The Fillmore’s much bigger, and you can really hear that reflected in the scale of these performances

The Wood Brothers will remain on the road through the end of the year. The tour includes a two-night, sold-out run at San Rafael, CA’s Terrapin Crossroads (8/20 & 8/21), the band’s first-ever headlining performance at Morrison, CO’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre (9/5), and an extensive tour throughout the Midwest and Texas.
