Wednesday marks the third consecutive day in which veteran rock outfit Yo La Tengo has shared a new original single to their Bandcamp page, which first launched on Monday. Entitled, “James gets up and watches mourning birds with Abraham (Wednesday)”, the dreamy new instrumental follows the previously shared “James and Ira demonstrate mysticism and some confusion holds (Monday)”, and “Georgia thinks it’s probably okay (Tuesday)” which were released on the days as mentioned in their respective titles.

The raw, atmospheric new single stretches out to 6:20 minutes in length and welcomes the listener in with calming, drone-line sounds before subtle guitar lines fade in around the 2:00 mark. Overall, the piece sounds more like the soundtrack for a meditation session in a Tibetan monastery rather than the kind of music conceived by a rock band based out of Hoboken, NJ, but the band has clearly channeled new avenues of creativity with all this downtime without live performances these days.
