Southern California’s The Higgs, known as the “Los Angeles Jammers”, have released a new live compilation album titled, Rose Will Fall – Mixtape. The album’s arrival on Friday follows the previous release of singles that the band shared over the last month including “Late Night”, “Rhyme Or Reason”, and “Rose Will Fall (Parts 1 & 2)”.

Curated from tracks played in 2019, The Higgs hit the road ferociously last year with this idea in mind. The venues they played served as the studios and their fans the producers, culminating in what they call, the “Moontower.” The band enlisted J.P. Hesser (Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Circles Around The Sun) of Cast Away 7 Studios for album mixing purposes, as well as Louie Teran and George Shaw (The Rolling Stones, Dave Matthews Band) at Century 22 Studios for mastering.

“We decided that before we do our first big studio LP we wanted to put out another double live record,” keyboardist Jesse Jennings explained in a press release. “We realized that a lot of our friends and our fans were digging the live aspect of our band, cause we’re a jam band and that’s what we’re all about. So we decided to take a compilation of different shows and do a mixtape-like type of concept.”

According to guitarist John Lovero, the album is a combination of songs new and old, and includes covers of Pink Floyd‘s “Breathe” and The Band‘s “Don’t Do It”.

“Some of the songs were really new when we recorded this stuff,” Lovero continued. “Some of them could have been like five years old. So it’s kind of a blend of everything.”

In addition to uploading the album to streaming sites, The Higgs have physical copies for sale on the band’s website. Each CD will also come with a limited edition double cassette tape while supplies last. Listen to the entire album below:
