While Ween continues to impress in 2016 with action packed setlists, a lot of their live material comes from the group’s classic albums from the 1990’s. One such album, called The Pod, was officially released on this day in 1991. 25 years later, it still remains a fan favorite.

Today, Dean Ween posted an unreleased demo track that was recorded for the album. He says, “To celebrate the 25th anniversary of our 2nd “official” album, here is a classic Ween outtake from the record, mixed in 1992 by Andrew Weiss. should’ve been on the record, but better late than never, enjoy!”

It’s easy to see why The Pod has captured the brown hearts of so many Ween fans. The band’s second full-length studio release was riddled with elements of the band’s classic humor, including a liner note that said the album was written under the influence of Scotchgard. The album cover itself is a play on the 1975 album, The Best of Leonard Cohen, with a photo of Chris “Mean Ween” Williams’s head and a nitrous oxide bong over the original artwork.

Dean and Gene Ween were in fine form for the whole album, and it shows with some of the band’s most recognizable songs. The tracklisting includes the first two parts of “The Stallion,” “Pork Roll Egg And Cheese,” “Pollo Asado” and so many more.
