Trout Steak Revival won the Telluride Bluegrass Festival band competition back in 2014, and ever since, they’ve been gaining quite a following with their special mix of roots, progressive bluegrass, folk, Americana, and jam music. The five-piece group composed of Bevin Foley (fiddle), Steve Foltz (guitar & mandolin), Casey Houlihan (bass), William Koster (guitar & dobro), and Travis McNamara (banjo) has become synonymous with Colorado, though with each year that passes, the group continues to expand its reach, earning dedicated fans from coast to coast and a well-deserved appearance on the Today Show.

Now, three years after their big break in Telluride, Trout Steak Revival will be releasing a new album dubbed Spirit To The Sea in November, which was produced by Chris Pandolfi of The Infamous Stringdusters. With a little something for everyone (including new and old fans alike), Spirit To The Sea shows huge growth on the part of the band, with the group offering a collection of deeply honest songs augmented by the group’s tight vocal harmonies and excellent musicianship across the board, both individually and as a whole.

Fruition Welcomes Jason Hann, Larry Keel, Brad Parsons, And Trout Steak Revival’s Bevin Foley At Ogden Theatre Debut

Ahead of Spirit To The Sea‘s release, Trout Steak Revival has been kind enough to share a taste of what to expect off their latest studio work. This previously unreleased track, “Feeling So Good”, is delightful and down-to-earth. Highlighting why the group has consistently won bluegrass awards, “Feeling So Good” shows the band at its finest, with its somewhat darker tone and rich sound contrasting well against the tune’s impassioned lyrics.

As guitarist, dobro player, and vocalist Will Koster said about the song, “Some of the first thoughts that shaped the song were of passion and where it comes from. The branches of life that I feel most passionate about are the ones that I have given the most time and attention to. I envisioned the thought cycles that we practice often becoming the trunk of a tree, and the outer twigs as old discarded habits, with the easy-to-reach fruit representing the passionate experience.”

Live For Live Music is proud to premiere “Feeling So Good” off Trout Streak Revival’s upcoming release, Spirit To The Sea, which was produced by The Infamous Stringdusters’ Chris Pandolfi.
