Umphrey’s McGee has put on some incredible sets at the Spirit Of The Suwannee Music Park over the years, and their three sets at Suwannee Hulaween were no exception. The band’s headlining set on Thursday saw them getting down with tasty renditions of classics like “Cemetery Walk,” which was left unfinished until the following night, and a fun double layer sandwich which featured a “Nothing Too Fancy” jam into “Speak Up.”

The next night saw them start off with a crackling rendition of fan favorite “In The Kitchen,” with each mention of Chicago drawing extra loud cheers thanks to the Chicago Cubs playing in the then-ongoing World Series for the first time in 71 years.

Our own Rex Thomson was in the crowd and managed to catch the massive mayhem that followed, in the form of an amazing two song “Prowler” into “Example 1.” Check it out below.

After the cheers faded, vocalist Brendan Bayliss took a moment to address of some of the less-than-attentive fans in the audience who were constantly checking the score of the game. He noted one friend of the band’s who was, in fact, hiding on their bus and watching the game instead of jamming to the show. He then dedicated a rollicking “Attachments” to his friend and all the others trying to rock out and check the score at the same time. Give a listen below:

Luckily for fans of both Umphrey’s and the Chicago Cubs, the team pulled off the victory and baseball fans and music lovers both had something to celebrate.
