To celebrate Jerry Garcia’s 70th birthday, Bob Weir is holding a tribute entitled ‘Move Me Brightly’ at his TRI Studios in San Rafael, Califorinia. Musicians already announced to perform include Phish’s Mike Gordon, Joe Russo and Jeff Chimenti of Furthur, Cass McCombs, Neal Casal of The Cardinals, in addition to Weir himself. The latest additions include Chris Tomson of Vampire Weekend, former Grateful Dead member Donna Jean Godchaux, and Craig Finn and Tad Kubler of The Hold Steady.

This eclectic line up is sure to provide a memorable tribute to Jerry. In addition to the live performance, video tributes will be displayed from Garcia’s contemporaries, including Mickey Hart, Brill Kreutzmann, and Carlos Santana. David Crosby’s tribute, ‘Cause I’m Missing Him Tonight’, which was written for the occasion, will also be read. Actor Luke Wilson will MC the event, which will be accompanied by rare Grateful Dead concert footage. The whole event will be live streamed on both TRIStudios.com and Yahoo! Music on Friday, August 3rd, at 6:30pm PST.
