Will Butler announced earlier this week that he would write a song a day based on headlines from The Guardian, and so far, the results have been fantastic. The Arcade Fire member has so far tackled newsworthy topics such as the Greek debt crisis, civil unrest in Ukraine and a water crisis in Brazil. One of his masterpieces is a mashup of Madonna’s fall at the BRIT Awards with the discovery of a black hole 12 billion times larger than the sun and nearly as old as the universe (eek).

Listen to all of the songs from the week-long project here, with their accompanying stories.
