Just a few months ago, the Grateful world was saddened upon learning about the death of legendary bassist Rob Wasserman. Best known for his work on the upright bass, Wasserman was an integral member of Bob Weir’s band, RatDog, and his death was felt heavily by fans everywhere.

Though Dead & Company honored Wasserman’s passing with the debut of a RatDog cover, “Even So,” when Wasserman passed, bandmate Bob Weir decided to host a full-fledged tribute to his lost comrade. Held at the Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, CA, Weir welcomed a number of guests to his show, including Steve Kimock, Mark Karan, Dave Ellis, Robin Sylvester, Jeff Chimenti and Jay Lane – all of whom were former members of RatDog. The band also welcomed Lukas Nelson and DJ Logic, who each sat in with the RatDog ensemble.

Another interesting addition to the show was Gov’t Mule, who rushed over from their nearby performance and took the stage to extend the tribute. You can check out a handful of videos from the night below, as provided by Jay Blakesberg.
