The Boy Scouts’ well-known motto is “Always be prepared.” Even if you’re not an Eagle Scout, this is probably a good motto to live by. As such, a good rule of car camping (and really all camping) is to make sure to stake down and secure your tent, even when you think that you don’t need to. This is a lesson that some prior attendees at Bonnaroo learned the hard way, as evidenced by this new video via Silly Hippy posted on June 5th ahead of this year’s festival start date. Dubbed the “Bonnaroo tornado,” a new video shows a number of tents and sunshades being sent skyward and scattered across part of the campground, leaving festival-goers scrambling as they chase after their soaring shelters. As it turns out, sometimes weather conditions change, and even if it’s not particularly windy when you’re setting up your tent at a festival, it could get windier later during the weekend.

With this year’s Bonnaroo kicking off this weekend in Manchester, Tennessee, we can only hope that this year’s festival crowd got the memo. Enjoy the video below.
