The Silent Barn, a music venue/apartment building/artist collective located on Bushwick Avenue in Brooklyn, NY, experienced a fire this past weekend that has caused all shows in the main venue to be cancelled for the foreseeable future. The fire occurred on Friday, September 25th in one of the apartments on the third floor and is believed to have been caused by an electrical malfunction. Everyone made it out safely, though the building sustained serious damage and many residents lost all of their personal belongings.

The venue is working to relocate all upcoming events to nearby venues. In the meantime, they urge you to stop in, even just for a coffee, and continue to support them while the main venue remains vacant. You can donate to help cover residents’ personal losses, as well as the building’s lost income in the coming weeks, here.
