Fresh off a three years probation sentence after essentially, allegedly date-raping a woman, CeeLo Green took to Twitter to proclaim that, in order to be raped, the person must be conscious. Here are some screenshots of Green’s tweets, courtesy of Buzzfeed:

The artist was tried for possession of ecstasy, as not enough evidence was present to charge Green for rape. Green pled “no contest” in court, and received a sentence of three years probation and 45 days of community service.

Eventually, Green went on to apologize for his comments, tweeting:

“Let me 1st praise god for exoneration fairness & freedom! Secondly I sincerely apologize for my comments being taken so far out of context.”

“I only intended on a healthy exchange to help heal those who love me from the pain I had already caused from this. Please forgive me as it..”

“…was your support that got me thru this to begin with. I’d never condone the harm of any women. Thank you.”

Later on, Green just deleted his entire Twitter account. Given the backlash from the community, this may very well be the end of Mr. Green’s career in the music industry.
