Before he became a rockstar, Dave Grohl found himself on the losing end of a Battle of the Bands back in 1983 to his high school nemesis, Chet Lott. More than thirty years later, Grohl was finally able to get retribution by inviting Lott on stage during a Foo Fighters gig in Memphis for a rematch. The two performed David Bowie’s “Under Pressure” with Lott taking lead on vocals.

Grohl told the story of the loss before inviting Lott on stage to join him. “I may have won the battle, but you won the war,” Lott told Grohl as they began going at it. Like Grohl, Lott went on to pursue a career in music. He now donates all proceeds from his music to Hurricane Katrina victims.
