Someone should make a “Good Guy Dave” meme.
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has contributed to a dying man’s dream, offering two VIP tickets to the Foo’s upcoming show in Los Angeles. Grohl was told of Powell’s terminal diagnosis and dying wish by a friend who works as a flight attendant.
The fan, named Ken Powell, was diagnosed with a melanoma fourteen years ago, and in 2009 the condition was classified as terminal. He was supposed to meet Grohl recently in Perth, but that interaction was postponed when Grohl had food poisoning. Powell is currently working on a fundraising campaign to get to Los Angeles to catch the Foo Fighters show.
At press time, Powell had reached his initial $20,000 goal, increasing the goal to raise money for the Melanoma Institute Australia.
Meanwhile, Grohl shared a photo saying “Hi Ken,” and is doing his best to support Powell’s cause.
