At a Teenage Cancer Trust benefit last night (an organization that The Who’s Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend are heavily involved in) at London’s Royal Albert Hall, Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour played a powerful performance, and even gave a nod to Prince during “Comfortably Numb”, his final song of the night.

As Gilmour began one of the most recognizable guitar solos in rock music, both he and his backing band effortlessly transitioned into the “Purple Rain” solo segment, bathing the venue in purple lights in tribute to the recently passed icon. As you may know, Gilmour teamed up with Tom Jones for a cover of the song back in 1992. Watch that here.
