Dead & Company kept the heat going for a great performance at the Jiffy Lube Live last night, bringing their exciting blend of Grateful Dead music to the Bristow, VA venue. The group is in the throes of a great tour, with newcomers John Mayer and Oteil Burbridge adding their flavors to the Grateful melodies. The band continues to bring out new songs at every show, and last night was no exception.

Opening with a “Cold Rain and Snow” into the bluesy “New Speedway Boogie,” Dead & Company hit the ground running and never looked back. They broke out the first “El Paso” of 2016, as well as the tour debuts of “Candyman” and “Don’t Ease Me In.” The show also featured the tour debut of “Dear Prudence,” played near the end of the second set. Of course, the whole second set was on fire, with the opening combination of “Lost Sailor” > “Saint Of Circumstance,” a rocking “Viola Lee Blues,” “Terrapin Station” and a “Sugar Magnolia” to close out the set. The band encored with one of their 2016 debuts, “Black Muddy River.”
