Perhaps one of the most well-known moments of crossover between Phish and Grateful Dead worlds came in April of 1999, when bassist Phil Lesh hosted a Phish-y “Friends” performance at The Warfield Theatre in San Francisco, CA. The run took place between April 15-17, featuring Trey Anastasio and Page McConnell from Phish alongside Steve Kimock and John Molo.

Though these legendary shows have certainly held a noteworthy spot in the jam history books, few have gotten to watch the pure chemistry between the five band members. Fortunately, a new video has emerged onto YouTube, capturing the first night of the stand in its entirety.

Thanks to a number of people, including taper Art Granoff and uploader Kevin Tobin, we can sit back and watch the magic that was Phil Lesh & Phriends. Enjoy…
