As the Peach Music Festival is set to get underway this evening, Gregg Allman is reveling in excitement for his new solo band, though that’s not to say he’s adverse to acknowledging the possibility of an Allman Brothers Band reunion. However, don’t expect to see it this weekend at Peach despite former ABB bandmates Warren Haynes, Jai “Jaimoe” Johnson and Oteil Burbridge all in attendance. They’ll all be there doing their own things.

In regards to an Allman Brothers reunion, it’s a bit of a glass half full scenario. Allman tells Rolling Stone, “…I don’t know the timeline — but if we did [reunite], we’d do it right. And to do it right, we’d do a whole damn tour. I’m not ruling that out, and I never did.”

As for now, Allman is perfectly content doing the solo thing, remarking he feels “just fine” going into this year’s Peach Festival. “…Anyway, I got my work cut out for me. Every night [my band] astounds me with how tight they are. . .they are so in tune. It took me seven years to find these guys.”

“Though I enjoyed it,” says Allman, “I thought 45 years with the Allman Brothers was plenty enough.” We’ll see how long Gregg sticks to this tune. Something tells us we haven’t seen the last of the Allman Brothers Band yet.
