Dave Matthews Band has hosted a number of exceptional guests on their lengthy summer tour. Bela Fleck. Branford Marsalis. Warren Haynes. However, the latest guest appearance may take the cake, as DMB welcomed the legendary Herbie Hancock during last night’s performance at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre in Irvine, CA.

Hancock came out during the second set, joining the band for “Mercy”, and staying out through “Spaceman”, “Captain”, and “What Would You Say”. Matthews and Hancock actually worked together on Hancock’s 2010 release, The Imagine Project, on which Matthews was featured on a cover of The Beatles’ “Tomorrow Never Knows”.
