None of the top 10 reasons we love to hate Kanye West compares to what happened last Friday night in Sydney, Australia, when Mr. West literally stopped his show to criticize two fans for not standing up during a song – two fans who are handicapped.

According to various reports, Kanye apparently halted the performance, and said, “I can’t do this song, I can’t do this show until everybody stand up. Unless you got a handicap pass and you get special parking and shit. Imma see you if you ain’t standing up, believe me, I’m very good at that.” As he paused, one fan waved a prosthetic limb at Kanye, who said, “Okay, you fine.”

Shortly thereafter, West criticized yet another seated fan, saying “This is the longest I’ve had to wait to start a song. It’s unbelievable!” As the crowd admonished West, trying to gesture that the “seated fan” was seated in a wheelchair, he then sent a bodyguard to confirm that the fan was disabled.

“He is in a wheelchair? It’s fine,” said Kanye, before continuing his set.

Kanye also dropped some controversial remarks in Melbourne last Wednesday, saying “I can’t go on with this song if there’s people in here sitting down unless y’all sitting down because y’all handicapped.”

Here’s an idea… why don’t you just play your song, Kanye, and let people enjoy it how they please? They’ve already spent the money to buy a ticket; the least you could do is actually play your material.

Though, to be fair, Kanye did show some sensitivity at a concert in Texas earlier this year. When the view was blocked for a handicapped person in the second row, he asked a security guard to give that fan the microphone. The fan said the exchange “means a lot to me. I don’t know how to explain. It’s just a humble experience.”
