The Velvet Underground will be releasing a box set next week (November 24th), focusing on the band’s third, self-titled album. The six-CD set is packed with goodies, including alternate mixes of the album’s original tunes, and a live recording from The Matrix in San Francisco, from 1969.

To promote the release, the band has shared the live version of their classic tune, “Sweet Jane.” A full year prior to its official release, on 1970’s Loaded, this version has an alternate lyrical arrangement and a bridge section that was later cut. Enjoy:
