Those Phish fans attending Brooklyn Comes Alive knew to show up early, as the rising scene superstar Holly Bowling performed an early afternoon set at Verboten as part of the festival. Supporting her new CD release, Distillation Of A Dream: The Music of Phish Reimagined For Solo Piano, Bowling opened the show with a commanding “My Friend, My Friend” and brought out hit after hit from her Phish repertoire.

Among the highlights was a dazzling “Theme From The Bottom”, a thoughtful version of “Scents and Subtle Sounds”, and a killer “Harry Hood” that segued into “Taste” for the set finale. Now, thanks to Ms. Bowling and taper Eric McRoberts, we now have full audio from the performance. Listen in below:
