Beloved psychedelic singer/songwriter Cass McCombs has announced a new album, A Folk Set Apart: Rarities, B-Sides & Space Junk, Etc., to be released on December 11th. The LP digs up a number of limited recordings, most of which were hard to find, and organizes them into one healthy new album release.

Among the songs selected are a number of one-of-a-kind collaborations, including an experimental track called “Texas” co-written by Mike Gordon of Phish. Drummer Joe Russo of Furthur/JRAD fame is featured on two selections, “Evangeline” and “Night Of The World”, while other collaborators include Tim Dewit aka Dutch E. Germ (Gang Gang Dance), Chris Cohen (Deerhoof), and Tim Cedar (Ligament).
