Dumpstaphunk has announced that drumming phenom Nikki Glaspie will be leaving the band to concentrate on her role in The Nth Power. Glaspie has been a member of Dumpstaphunk since 2011, when she replaced Raymond Weber. She will officially depart after Dumpstaphunk’s August 22nd performance at UNC at Chapel Hill, to prepare for an Nth Power fall tour, which begins August 30th at Chicago’s North Coast Festival.

Dumpstaphunk has confirmed that New Orleans drummer Alvin Ford Jr. will be Glaspie’s replacement. The group made the following statement.

We love Nikki and wish her nothing but the best moving forward. We’ve shared many amazing shows together, along with an album we’re all very proud of. No doubt we’ll be seeing each other down the road. In the mean time, we reached out to our extended family of New Orleans musicians and can confirm that Alvin Ford Jr. will join us on tour starting August 23 in Park City, UT
