The 10th Annual Mountain Jam occurred last weekend, at Hunter Mountain, and while most of the music-themed headlines spoke of monstrous sets by legendary artists, it seems that over 50 people were arrested during the festivities.

It seems that the possession or distribution of controlled substances and marijuana were the culprits in most cases, though some other causes are included in the list as well.

While some might argue that drugs are illegal, others would counter that, in a controlled environment such as a music festival, these narcotics post no particular harm to anyone. It is true that the festival prohibits drugs, but I can only imagine the severe disappointment one must have after buying a ticket and getting arrested for smoking a joint.

Just goes to show, you don’t ever know.
