Recently, it was announced that Phil Lesh would be hosting a Hanukkah celebration at his venue in San Rafael, CA, Terrapin Crossroads. The show is the latest in a line of Jewish holiday events at Lesh’s venue, including a Passover seder and a Rosh Hashanah performance earlier this year.

The Hanukkah show, held last December 16th (on the first night of the holiday), kicked off with a telling of the Hanukkah story by Lesh himself. After a hearty dinner that included a “setlist” of Chicken > Brisket > Noodle Kugel > Latkes (w/ Sour Cream and Apple Sauce), Phil Lesh & The Terrapin Family Band kicked into a Hanukkah-themed set with guitarist Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz.

Song selections included “I Need A Miracle,” “Just A Little Light,” “Light One Candle,” “Mountains Of the Moon” (with Oh Hanukkah, Oh Hanukkah teases). and a set-closing “Turn On Your Lovelight.” While Lesh himself isn’t Jewish, he does seem to enjoy participating in the holiday traditions, and even tinkering with the extensive Grateful Dead repertoire to show his enthusiasm.

Here’s the full set from last Tuesday’s show, courtesy of Deadhead Land:
