On Friday night, the Red Hot Chili Peppers took over the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles, CA for their first performance of 2016. Coming in support of presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, who bassist Flea has wholeheartedly endorsed time and time again, the show also marked RHCP’s first set since the passing of David Bowie.

Naturally, the band took the opportunity to pay tribute to the lost legend, and broke out a debut cover of the Aladdin Sane track “Cracked Actor.” Watch fan-shot footage below:
