Four piece jam powerhouse Spafford have made a name for themselves with experimental live performances that often are filled with explosive energy and next level musicianship. While relatively new to the scene, having only performed in a handful of cities, the recent announcement confirming a tour with Umphrey’s McGee came as an exciting surprise for fans hip to their music. Monday’s news has now been one-upped with the revelation of additional dates that will see these jam giants hit even more cities nationwide.

Marking their east coast debut, Spafford will join Umphrey’s McGee for the second leg of their tour starting in Richmond, Virginia for two nights at the esteemed National. The band will go on to play intimate venues Milkboy in Philadelphia and Wonder Bar in Asbury Park on their own, both perfect rooms to incubate their music for their newly-introduced fans. The foursome will rejoin UM for a slew of large-room dates up the coast before heading west to The Fox Theatre in Oakland, Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas, and several other staple venues. Tickets to all shows are available here.

There is never a better time than the “now” to get to know Spafford. Most recently, they released Live Vol 2, a re-mastered and specially mixed collection of different live tracks from recent touring highlights recorded from the last two years. Known for their exceptionally energetic live performances, this is a good place to start getting acquainted with their jam-heavy compositions. Have a listen.

If you’re going to see Phish at Madison Square Garden, Spafford and The Magic Beans will be playing after-shows on 12/30 & 12/31 at American Beauty. Tickets available here.
