This June, some of Jerry Garcia’s classic songs are going to get a little, more, well…classical. That’s because The Boston Pops Orchestra will be performing several Garcia originals, Grateful Dead classics, and associated songs for a performance that is being called ‘The Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration’. Warren Haynes will join the orchestra for this special event.

The performance will take place June 22nd in Stockbridge, MA’s legendary Tanglewood, which is also the summer home for the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The current Music Director and Conductor for the Boston Pops Orchestra is Keith Lockhart, who has spearheaded collaborations with many mainstream artists like Aerosmith, My Morning Jacket, Guster, Amanda Palmer, and Ozomatli.

Tickets for ‘The Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration’, as well as the rest of the Tanglewood Season, go on sale on January 27th at 10am. You can find more information here.
