For the past two years, The Meters have been performing regularly with Phish keyboardist Page McConnell. Page, aka The Chairman of the Board, aka Leo, adds his virtuostic style to an already-legendary funk ensemble that includes Zigaboo Modeliste, George Porter Jr. and Leo Nocentelli – three of the founding members of the Meters.

Now, what better time for The Meter Men with Page McConnell to perform than during Jazz Fest? With Phish already on the bill, and with The Meters as a NOLA favorite, this grouping is absolutely prime. The band will be playing two nights, April 25th and 26th, at the famous Republic venue.

On the 25th, Stanton Moore and Marco Benevento will open the show. On the 26th, The London Souls are billed as the openers. For both nights, doors open at 9, and music starts at 10.

Tickets for both shows are on sale this Saturday through the venue’s official website.

Is anyone else down for a Trey sit in?
