Additionally, the band will be joined by the Tiny Universe Horns, featuring Karl Denson and Chris Littlefield, on December 28 and 29. The band promises more special guests “from the band’s musical past” to be announced for December 31st. All ticket buyers will also receive a special download code, redeemable for a special remastered edition of the band’s first ever recorded cassette, featuring 11 classic songs.

You can read the full statement from the band, below:

Nearly 20 years ago, a “bluegrass” band formed in the small ski towns of the Colorado Rockies. Two decades later, The String Cheese Incident will kick off their 20th Anniversary Celebration with a 3-night New Year’s run at the 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, CO. This will be the ultimate celebration of the life of the band, highlighted by special guest appearances, vintage relics from SCI’s past, and more!

In addition to William “Bootsy” Collins on 12/28, several new artists have just been added to the 3-night NYE festivities! The Flaming Lips will now perform a special set on 12/29, and Karl Denson & Chris Littlefield (Horns from Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe) will be on hand for both the 28th & 29th. There will also be special surprise guests from the band’s past on the NYE itself. One can only imagine the musical collaborations that will come out of these epic Incidents.

As an added bonus, all ticket buyers will receive a download code good for a free remastered MP3 of the band’s very first cassette tape. This old school album features early recordings of 11 classic SCI songs. Don’t miss your chance to kick off Cheese’s 20th Anniversary with 3 incredible nights of music and performance in a way only SCI can do.
