Pink Talking Fish played a late night set during the Jazz Fest festivities in New Orleans, hitting The Republic on Saturday 4/25. The group wasted no time getting down to business, opening the set with a cover of Phish’s “Punch You In The Eye.”

The band got some help from members of Turkuaz in the middle of the set, as the band’s saxophonist joined in for a rendition of the Pink Floyd tune, “Money.” The remainder of the Turkuaz horns came out to join in on Phish’s “Gumbo,” before switching with other members of Turkuaz for The Talking Heads’ “Girlfriend Is Better.”

Turkuaz brings their funk army to NYC on Saturday May 2nd, so be ready to get down with the excellent ensemble (more info here). We’re also particularly excited about the upcoming Pink Talking Fish Are Dead shows in Chicago, surrounding the “Fare thee Well” Grateful Dead reunion performances. Event information here.
